How do I place an order?

To place an order click on the "Add to Cart" button from the product details page. For all jewelry you will also be able to request that your purchase be shipped in a gift box. You will be able to specify the cord or chain you like for most necklaces, . Once you have added all of the items you want, your payment will be processed securely though Paypal using either your Paypal account or a major credit card. Carolyn K. Designs does not have access to either your Paypal account or credit card information.

Carolyn K. Designs uses a third-party shopping card to consolidate all order information and uses Paypal soley to to transact orders.


Can I receive a gift box for my items?

At the time you place your order for earrings and necklaces, you may specify if you require a gift box prior to adding the item to your cart. I do not have gift boxes available for functional fused glass items (plates, bowls, picture frames, etc.) Chainmail items will be sent in an organza bag.


What forms of payment do you accept?

You may pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover Card, or your paypal account through this online system.   I accept payment through the online shopping cart which is encrypted, safe and secure.   The service is provided by PayPal, but you may pay with a major credit card even if you do not have a PayPal account.


What forms of shipping do you use and how much does it cost?

For fused glass items, I ship only within the US via priority mail, and insurance will be provided. Generally, shipment for four (4) or fewer jewelry items will cost $6.80 plus insurance. Generally, shipping for functional fused glass items will be $13.45 plus insurance. For chainmail items, I ship USPS. Shipping will be $3.00 and does not include insurance. If you would like your chainmail to include insurance, please contact me before placing your order and I will give you pricing.


Can I pick items up?

If you live in the metropolitan Washington DC area and would like to pick up your purchase in Bethesda, MD instead of having it delivered, please specify "no shipping" when making the shipping selection. I do not have a retail storefront, so this option is reserved for local customers only.


How long will it take to receive my order?

Typically, items will be shipped withing two business days and received within seven days of shipping.


Can I return an item?

I want you to be happy with every purchase.   If for any reason you are not totally satisfied with your order, you may return it in its original condition within 14 of receipt days for a full refund or exchange.   If you need to return an item, please re-wrap it carefully, insure it appropriately, and notify me of the return by sending an email. Please indicate the reason for your return.   Refunds will provided in the same form as the initial payment. Original and return shipping charges cannot be refunded unless the return is due to an error on my part.  


Can I remove the pendant cords or chains that come with the itesm?

The pendant cords and chains are sized to be easily removed so that you may wear your pendant with a variety of chains you may already have.


How do I wash the glass?

I recommend that glass pieces be hand washed to ensure their safety.


Are your functional fused glass items food safe?

Yes, all items are food safe.


How do I care for the chainmail jewelry?

Chainmail jewelry may be cleaned by gently wiping with a soft cloth. A more thorough cleaning can be done by soaking in warm, soapy water using a gentle dish soap, such as Dawn. This will remove any dirt or oils that have accumulated. Then rinse and dry the piece with a soft cloth. You may store the jewelry in a plastic bag to reduce exposure to the air and minimize oxidation.

Never use an abrasive cleaner on your metal jewelry pieces as they can scrape the colorful finish off. This includes harsh chemicals or even silver polishing cloths. Also, do not place the jewelry in an ultrasonic cleaner. Other chemicals like hairsprays, perfumes, bleach, and chlorine can cause the anodized finish to deteriorate over time. Clean an item in soapy water immediately if exposed to such chemicals.


What is your privacy policy?

I will never rent, sell, or exchange names or email addresses of my customers or online visitors.   I may send you an email a few times a year to notify you of new products and upcoming shows.   If you would like to be removed from this contact list, please let me know.


Do you offer home shows?

If you live in the metropolitan Washington DC area and would like to host a home show for your friends (and receive benefits!!), please contact me.


Do you do custom work?
